Rabbi Dalfin

geles, author, lecturer and spir-
itual guide. Rabbi Dalfin founded
the Chabad House of Marin
County and is on a national tour

interviews with 14 major Jewish
leaders regarding their interac-
tion with the Lubavitcher Rabbe.

Ron Coden and Josh White Jr.
will present a concert of songs for
all ages 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24,
at Inglenook Park, Southfield, on
West 12 Mile Road, between
Evergreen and Lahser.
The audience-participation
concert also will feature a clown
to entertain the children. Kosher
refreshments will be available for
purchase. Parking will be avail-
able at Congregation Beth Achim
across the street. In case of rain,
the concert will be canceled.
The concert is sponsored by the
Neighborhood Project, a program
of the Jewish Federation of Met-
ropolitan Detroit. Co-sponsors are
the city of Southfield and The
Jewish News. Admission is free.

JPM Plans
Open House

The Jimmy Prenits Morris Jew-
ish Community Center will spon-
sor Family Day At the "J" on
Sunday, Aug. 25, from 11 a.m. to

2 p.m. The community is invited
to use, at no charge, the general
facilities of the Center: the swim-
ming pool, gym, weight room and
locker rooms. Health Club pass-
es will be issued for future use by
appointment.
Adult visitors will be able to
try out a variety of JCC classes.
Children will be able to partici-
pate in soccer, roller blades,
karate, art, swim lessons and
games and cooking. Three will be
a special Kindermusik demon-
stration, which is national music
appreciation program for young
children. The preschool program
will conduct an open house and
provide preschool activities.
Special discount class regis-
tration coupons will be available
for the day and JCC summer spe-
cial membership rates will be in
effect. A raffle for a free Center
membership will take place.
Magical Mel the Magician will
perform at no charge at 1:15 p.m.
and lunch will be available for
purchase in the snack bar.

Berkley Library
Used Book Sale

The Friends of Berkley Public Li-
brary will hold its annual Fall
used Book Sale from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memberships for the preview sale
may be purchased at the door.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, the sale
opens to the public. Hours are 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, Sept.
8, doors will be open from noon
to 5 p.m.
The Berkley Public Library is
located at 3155 Coolidge High-
way, two blocks south of 12 Mile
Rd. on the west side of the street.

JPM Events
Are Slated

Bingo will be played Monday,
Aug. 26, at 12:30 p.m. There is
a charge.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 1
p.m.m Tabs" Kaldobsky will pre-
sent "Musical Happenings." This
event is free of charge.
Socials are held every Wednes-
day at 1 p.m.
Woodcarving takes place Mon-
days through Fridays at 9 a.m.
Supplies are included in the be-
ginning. There is no charge.

LZA Plans
Sunday Lunch

The Labor Zionist Alliance will
hold a luncheon on Sunday, 1996-
1997 season, featuring Gadi Ra-
viv, Habonim shaliach, and
Israeli Scholarship recipients. It
will take place at 25900 Green-
field, suite 205-E, Oak Park.
There is no charge.
