Have You had Big Daddy's Tommy Salad Yet?
Or Our Fabulous Lamb Chops?
staffers Curt DeLoye, Debbie
Schultz, Heidi Brandemihl and
Lisa Wylin attesting to having
seldom seen or tasted better.
Great to see Ricky Dee again
... He left show business for the
quieter life as a Fretter's sales-
man ... After seven years of not
touching a microphone, Ricky
says he may have it back in his
hands doing vocalizing guest
shots when Billy Rose and his
group returns to Excalibur ... Bil-
ly and his quartet will be back
Aug. 27.
Elaine Ryke took turns be-
tween going outside and inside ...
The marvelous weather allowed
for this ... Sorry not to see Mike
Selik, who usually attended every
Excalibur party ... Mike passed
on shortly before the affair ...
Richard Shaefer here from Cali-
fornia, with plans on moving back
to the hometown.
We had it correct a week be-
fore ... but in again reminding
folks, the wrong day appeared
and many attendees wouldn't let
us forget that they had to make
two trips.
However, they said, the Ex-
calibur anniversary party this
year was sure worth it ... the best
yet.
ADMLSSION IS FREE to the
22nd annual Common Ground
Art in the Park, Sept. 7 and 8, at
Birmingham's Shain Park.
It'll feature 156 artists ex-
hibiting ceramic, basket weaving,
blown glass, jewelry, leather,
paintings and much more.
A special bit is the Children's
Art Area where the youngsters
can create their own works of re-
cycled art from paper roll tubes
and egg cartons ... They can also
be a canvas for one of the fair's
face painters.
LOOKS LIKE kids can get of
the junk food kick with parental
visits to places like Feldbro
Quality Meats on Middlebelt in
Farmington Hills.
Owners Alan and dad Harold
Feldman have come up with
something they call Chicken
Feld-Nuggets ... Made of 100 per-
cent pure ground chicken with no
skin, no artificial coloring and no
preservatives.
These healthful snacks, after
school or whenever, can be micro-
waved at 425 degrees for just 12
minutes.
Feldbro _ has been a commu-
nity stalwart for over 45 years ...
and adults aren't forgotten ... Its
Kal-Be-Ribs, cross cut and mar-
inated in 12 seasonings, is a
recipe that originated in Hawaii
... Three minutes grilling on each
side and ready to serve.
IS YOUR NAME Seymour?
... Do you know any Seythours?
Seymour Brode and Seymour
Raskin (same last name, differ-
ent blood), figure they're the last
of the Seymours since "after our
generation no parent was cruel
enough to name any of their
sons Seymou•."
So Seymour and Seymour are
forming some sort of a club for
once-in-a-while get-togethers.
No dues ... Nothing ... Just the
name Seymour.
First meeting will be at Sey-
mour's (Brode, that is) Sneakers
Restaurant in his Franklin Rac-
quet Club on Northwestern
Highway between 12 Mile and
Inkster, Aug. 29, 5:30 p.m. ...
Complimentary drinks if your
name is Seymour.
Call Seymour (Raskin, that is),
for more info at 810-356-8850 or
810-398-2213.
Name of the club? ... Guess it'll
be The Seymours ... What else?
HOPEFULLY, THE next one
will be in Panama, where Phyl-
lis and Ruben Katz now live.
About 90 attended the recent
Robinson-Schwartz-Pollack re-
union, along with Gordon and
Phyllis Landsman, who came
from Incirlik Airbase in Turkey,
where he is a flight surgeon.
It was a well-planned four-day
shindig ... Opening dinner at
Olive Garden in Novi, family pic-
nic and dinner at Camp Nahelu,
bus tour through old Jewish
neighborhoods in Detroit (out-of-
towners who hadn't been here in
years must have been shocked),
banquet dinner at Wyndham
Garden Hotel in Novi, with
David Syme at the piano ... and
farewell brunch at the Wynd-
ham.

THEY DON'T WANT you to
put their breads in the refriger-
ator at Dakota Bread Co. on the
Boardwalk, Orchard Lake Road,
north of Maple.
Dave Rubin, co-owner with
Jeff Freedman, says they will dry
out and shorten the time of en-
joyment.
Almost every Dakota bread is
fat free ... Only ones not are the
challah from a 1903 Jewish cook-
book and those with added
cheese or nuts ... But all are nat-
ural with no chemicals or preser-
vatives ... They stay fresh for
about a week ... freeze excellent-
ly ... and have a very fine taste.
Folks are also discovering
Dakota's natural fat-free muffins
and cinnamon rolls as a good way
to start the day. 111
