Ruth intermarried, too!
At Shir Shalom, we would have
made her part of our family.

Like Ruth, there was Moses's wife. And Queen Esther's
husband. Intermarried couples and Jews by choice have
existed throughout history. At Shir Shalom, they're part
of our family. And our congregation. We welcome
intermarried couples and converts with open arms,
open minds, and open hearts.

Our membership reflects the diversity of today's society.
Families, young and old; singles with or without chil-
dren; and blended families—as well as intermarrieds
and converts. Each member is an important part of the
special mix that is Shir Shalom.

Because of our demographic make-up, Shir Shalom is
sensitive to the needs of all of our families. As a matter
of fact, we've set aside a memorial wall in our Carole
and Henry Frank Interfaith Garden that is dedicated to
the memories of our members' relatives and friends—
Jewish and not Jewish.

And Shir Shalom is sensitive to the needs of individuals.
That's why we guarantee single Bar or Bat Mitzvah
dates to each child who enrolls in our school. So that
child knows that he or she is special. And feels a
sense of individual accomplishment.
• It's also why we have once-a-week Hebrew school
(on Wednesday or Sunday morning). Because we
realize that children and families have so many
commitments in their lives.
• And why Shir Shalom has a tish, a question-and-
answer period, at the conclusion of every service.
So that personal concerns and questions about the
mysteries of our faith can be addressed.

TEMPLE

SHIR
SHALOM

Temple Shir Shalom is not for everybody. But, if you
believe in individuality, if you want to feel like part of a
family . . . and a dream, if you want to experience the
beginning of a temple's history—and don't want that
temple to be too big or too small, but just right—what
better time to become a part of the Shir Shalom family?

For membership information, or i f you'd like to experience
Shir Shalom personally by coming to our temple, call our
rabbis at (810) 737-8700.
