RECONSTRUCT

YOUR MIND, YOUR VALUES, YOUR SELF.

CONG. 1E,GATION 11"CHIYAli

Metro-Detroit's Reconstructionist Synagogue

Reconstructionist shuls are characterized by their
commitment to Judaism as a means through which Jews
find meaning in life. Reconstructionists are in a constant
dialogue with the tradition, always searching the past for
old ways and themselves for new ways of being Jewish.
For Judaism to be a means of self-fulfillment,
Reconstructionists assert that it must touch one's whole
being - intellectual and physical, spiritual and emotional.
Thus, the exploration occurs in discussion about particular
customs or values, and in acting upon them.
