Disc Go Round features in-
house data bases for customers
who don't want to sift through
the racks to find a particular
recording. An online music cat-
alogue provides the oeuvre of all
recording artists who've put out
compact discs. For shoppers who
want information before they
leave home, the store has a site
on the World Wide Web.
The partners have already
hosted an in-store concert with
a folk-rock band and an 89X ra-
dio show from the store. They
plan on doing more of the same.
While Disc Go Round won't
take special orders, it will take
requests and reserve for up to a
year CDs that end up in the
store. Mr. Hochberg, a guitarist

who holds a master's degree in
education, sold 300 recordings
from his personal CD collection
to the store, as did Mr. Rothen-
berg.
Mr. Hochberg says a lot of
customers selling their CDs are
members of clubs that send out
CDs to them if they don't return
a card declining the offer.
"You see these headbangers
coming in with Janet Jackson
CDs," Mr. Hochberg laughs.
Another customer brought in
40 Christmas recordings and
was disappointed that Mr.
Hochberg only offered him $1
per disc.
But, he says, "until we sell our
first Debbie Gibson CD, I won't
buy them." ❑
