the Jewish War Veterans and the
Jewish War Veterans Auxiliaries
elected the following officers for
1996/1997: Irving Marshall, com-
mander, Robert Feldman, senior
vice commander; Sanford
Pliskow, junior vice commander,
Harmon Tron, quartermaster;
Jack Kraiznaan, judge advocate;
Milton Klein, national executive
committeeman; Milton Klein and
Jack Schwartz, co-chiefs of staff.

Helen Pliskow, junior vice presi-
dent; Corrine Cohen, treasurer;
Bernice Wilson, patriotic in-
structress; Anne Green, conduc-
tress; Martha Hauptman,

liamentarian; Shirlee Marshall,
adviser; Anne Green, publicity.
Henry Seligman won the Nor-
man Berkley Award for out-
standing Veteran of the Year for
the Department of Michigan.

Scholarships
The Department of Michigan of
the Jewish War Veterans and the
Jewish War Veterans Auxiliaries
recently presented 27 Scholar-
ships of $500 each to 27 Michigan
young people. The scholarships
were given in honor of or in mem-
ory of a member of the JWV Post
or Auxiliary. The monies raised
for these scholarships come from
the selling of poppies in May.
