Erik Phillips

Erik Geoffi-ey Phillips of South-
field will be bar mitzvah at Tem-
ple Emanu-El on Friday, June
21. Rabbi Lane Steinger and
Cantor Norman Rose will lead
services. Participating in the cer-
emony will be Erik's parents,
Michael and Madelyn, and his
brother and sister, Craig and
Margeaux.
Other participants in the ser-
vice will be Erik's grandparents,
Yale and Irene Phillips of Farm-
ington Hills; aunt and uncle, Toni
and Tim Foley of Troy; aunt He-
lene Phillips and uncle Paul
Zerkel of Huntington Woods;
aunt Yvonne Wayne of Detroit
and great-aunt Rosie Schwartz
of Seattle, Wash.
A party will be held at Farina's
and Cadillac Cafe.
Erik is a student at Berkshire
Middle School and attends He-
brew school at Temple Emanu-
El. He plays trumpet in the
school band and has almost
reached rank of star in Boy
Scouts. He is a sports enthusiast
and has become involved as a vol-
unteer at the Capuchin Soup
Kitchen.
