South Haven
Open House

The first Hebrew Congregation
of South Haven, Mich., will hold
an open house to celebrate the
/— remodeling of their synagogue
and will hold a resort reunion.
A continental breakfast will be
served at 10 a.m. on Sunday,
July 28, at the synagogue. There

New Officers
For Beth Shalom

Congregation Beth Shalom will
hold its installation of officers
during Shabbat services on Sat-
urday, June 22, at 9 a.m.
Rabbi David A Nelson will in-
stall Arthur Langer as president
of the synagogue. Installed as
vice presidents will be Mark
Goldsmith, Barbara Aronow,
Daniel Biber and Arlene Gore-
lick. Treasurer will be Charles
Gordon; recording secretary, Su-
san Dones. Trustees will include
David Kirsch, Steven A. Levine,
Lynn Tarnoff Lipman, David
Marks, Lenny Newman, Richard
Polk, Elizabeth Schubiner and
Janice Wanetick.

SZ Plans
Musical Shabbat

A service marking Jerusalem
3000 will be held on Saturday
morning, June 22, at Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek.
Cantor Chaim Najman and an
augmented Shaarey Zedek Syn-
agogue Choir, directed by Eu-
gene Zweig, will present "Mizmor
L'ir David" — "a hymn to the
City of David" — a program of
musical selections. Rabbis Irwin
Groner and William Gershon will
offer commentary.
Appearing as soloists in this
presentation will be Avra Weiss,
Audrey Baker, Deena Pearlman
Weisberg, Brooke Lipman,
Marissa Shuback and Hy Safran.

Couples Meet

Congregation Shir Tikvah will
host interfaith couples, married
and single, members and non-
members, to join a discussion
group which meets the fourth
Wednesday of every month. No
