ing to the movies with his father,
Elliot, too. They recently saw Spy

Hard.

"We ride bikes together, and
sometimes he cooks and he's a
good cook, but only on two things:
hamburgers and steaks."
There are quite a few fathers
out there who are sports fans, it
seems — and many who are
themselves good sports.
Gary Shiffman of West Bloom-
field certainly is, and his son,
Adam, 6, loves going to hockey
games with him. "Also, he takes
me on trips. I like it when he
takes me Up North and we go on
a boat ride. He gives me hugs and
kisses, and he sent me to Hillel
Day School."
Alan Drucker loves watching
hockey on television, reports his
daughter, Elizabeth, 7, of South-
field. "He has a beard and, you
know that part right here (she
points to the top of her lip) —

on the top and the
back is filled with
stuff. And he gave
me something real-
ly cool: (video
games) Genesis and
Game Gear, and I
was Kung Fu Bun-
ny and he -was the
bear and I beat
him."
Seven-year-old
Mindy Welford of
Farmington Hills
had many delightful
things to say about her father,
Jay.
"He's a good dad," she said. "He
goes bike-riding with me.
"He never cooks, only when my
Mom is away and then he fixes
pizza and French toast and says,
`Compliments to the chefl'
"Sometimes, when my Mom's
away he puts me to bed, and one
time I asked him what he want-
ed to be when he grew up, and he
said a vet, you know, that takes
care of animals, but the tests
were too hard so he decided to be-
come a lawyer instead."
Jason Orley, 7, of Franklin,
loves to go bike-riding with his
father, Rob. But longer trips are
out of the question.
"There's four kids in the fami-
ly," he said incredulously. "How
could we go on trips together? Be-
sides, I always have to do stuff
with my brothers. Oy.
"My dad wears sandals in the
summer. He has a beard that
goes all around his mouth, but
sometimes he shaves. I like both
my Mom and Dad to tuck me in
at night.
"My Dad has two cars; one is
a Jaguar and one is a Mustang.
He goes to work every day except
on weekends, and sometimes he
takes me to work, too." Asked
what his father's job is, Jason
replied, "He's my Dad." 0
