Adat Shalom
Elects Rubin
Jack Rubin will become the new
president of Adat shalom Syna-
gogue at an installation ceremo-
ny at 10 a.m. on Suday, June 16.
The installation will be followed
by a brunch.
Mr. Rubin has been an Adat
Shalom member and leader since
1974. He has served as board of
trustees member, House Com-
mittee chairman, Memorial Park
chairman, synagogue secretary,
treasurer, vice president, and
most recently, first vice president.
Serving with Mr. Rubin will be
first vice president, Terran
Leemis; vice president, Beverly
Liss; recording secretary, Larry
Wolfe; and treasurer, Paul Magy.
Also elected to the Executive
Committee-at-Large were David
Schostak, Lori Issner and Sidney
Feldman. Newly elected board
members are Joel Golden, Han-
nan Lis and Betsy Winkelman.
Sharon Lubetsky and Sam Holo-
man will fill the seats on the
Board of Trustees vacated by
David Schostak and Lori Issner.
The congregation also will in-
stall the Adat Shalom Memorial
Park Board of Trustees: Barbara
Cook, Emanuel Feinberg, Sidney
Feldman and Milton Shiffinan.
Cost for the installation brunch
is $12 for adults and $8 for chil-
dren. Reservations are required.

Registration
Registration is being taken for
Congregation Beth Shalom
School. Directed by Shoshana
Ben-Ozer, the Conservative He-
brew school emphasizes class con-
tinuity and individual student
needs.
Meeting twice weekly, students
will learn Hebrew reading and
writing and basic synagogue
skills. Prayers and their mean-
ings will be taught to students at
their own level of understanding.
Bar/bat mitzvah training and
youth programs are available. Up-
per grades will explore alterna-
tive themes.
High school, grades 8-11, meets
on Sundays beginning with a con-
tinental breakfast. Subjects cov-
ered are Jewish heritage and
history. A monthly seminar, of-
fering a higher level of study
based on various aspects of Jew-
ish living, will be held for students
in grade 12. Dinner will be pro-
vided.
Junior Congregation will par-
ticipate as a class on a regular ba-
sis to strength learning skills.
Kindergarten will be offered
free of charge to members and
non-members.
