Bobbi Charnas is the newly-elect-
ed president of the Temple Beth
El Sisterhood. She has been ac-
tively involved with sisterhood for
several years, having served as
both recording and financial sec-
retary and as a sisterhood vice
president. She also has chaired
and co-chaired several sisterhood
events including a cooking series
and sisterhood's spring donor
events. Ms. Charnas holds a seat
on the Temple Beth El Board of
Trustees, formerly served on the
temple's Nominating Committee
and just completed two years as
Temple Social Action Chair.
Serving with Bobbi Charnas
this year will be Fay Clare Blau,
Sylvia Buckfire, Lois Freeman,
Deena Lockman, Jo Ann Nyquist
and Alice Zacks, vice presidents;

Anniversary
The Sholem Aleichem Institute
will hold its 70th Anniversary cel-
ebration on October 19, 1996, and
is sending out a call to all mem-
bers, former members and former
students to look for old photos and
memorabilia that chronicle the
activities of the institute and its
Jewish school.
