The installation ceremony will follow the affiliates' annual Shacharit service, beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 3. The service, coordinated this year by Linda Rosenbaum, is written and led by sisterhood members. Mrs. Maisel has had a long and committed involvement with both the sisterhood and the syn- agogue. She has chaired the Adat Shalom Ritual Committee, has advocated on behalf of aliyot for women and has held numerous chairmanships and offices with- in sisterhood. In the communi- ty, Mrs. Maisel has volunteered her services as an English tutor for new Americans. She also has worked with the Meals on Wheels program. Marcia Tanzman Sisterhood Installation The Congregation Beth Shalom Sisterhood will hold its instal- lation brunch at 11 a.m. on June 6, at the synagogue. Faye Ull- mann, Michigan branch presi- dent, and Linda Lublin, past president, will install Marcia Tanzman as sisterhood presi- dent. Marcia Tanzman has served on the executive committee in various positions, most recently vice president of membership, and part of the sisterhood pre- sidium. Marcia is a member of the Bel Canto Choir, as well as the synagogue choir. The instal- lation will incorporate music and the program will feature Rochelle Barr, the accompanist for the Bel Canto Choir. Israel Fest: Day Of Fun The Incredible Israel Fest, cel- ebrating the 48th anniversary of the state of Israel will be June 2, at the Maple-Drake Jewish Community Center. The festivities begin at 12:50 p.m. when Detroit Pistons own- er Bill Davidson will accept a time capsule from 242 teen- agers who are going on the Mir- acle Mission for Teens next month. He will help lead the 1 p.m. annual Walk for Israel with the Harrison High School Marching Band of Farmington c Hills. The folk duo Gemini will kick off the musical portion of the af- ternoon at 2:30 p.m. Local artist Raquel Pomerantz Gershon and the Akiva Hebrew School Choir also will perform. Israeli jazz will take the stage in the form of the Iris & Ofer Portugaly Quartet at 4:40 p.m. At 6 p.m., Israeli rocker Dan- ny Robes NAB perform. Throughout the afternoon, children's rides will be available. Hands-on activities for children and their parents will be offered by Jewish Experiences for Fam- ilies from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Kosher food booths will be available.
