The program in Eastern Eu- rope will include excursions to important Jewish sites in and around Prague, Krakow and Warsaw. Visits will be arranged with individuals and groups involved with Jewish folk and ethnic culture, especially those who have expertise in music and dance. In addition, gather- ings with local Jewish commu- nities will provide opportunities to participate together in infor- mal evenings of music and dance. One highlight of the program in Israel will be the three-day Karmiel Dance Festival. While the seminar tour is primarily for individuals who already have some knowledge of folk and ethnic culture — es- pecially teachers, performers and leaders who wish to enrich their professional background — others who are interested in having a Jewish cultural experience are welcome to par- ticipate on a space available ba- sis. The program is being ar- ranged by Rikuday Dor Rishon, a volunteer group of Israeli folk dancers that meets at the Tifer- eth Israel-Town & Village Syn- agogue in Manhattan.
