The board meeting will be fol-
lowed at 7 p.m. by the Fourth
Conference on Adults with Psy-
chiatric Disabilities titled "Schiz-
ophrenia: A Family Affair."
Dr. Frederick J. Frese, who
was diagnosed with schizophre-
nia nearly 30 years ago, will
\--speak about his struggles with
'the disease.
Dr. Husseini K. Manji, med-
ical director of the Neuropsychi-
atric Research Unit at the Detroit
Receiving Hospital, University
Health Center, and Wayne State
University, is developing research
and treatment facilities at the De-
\---troit Receiving Hospital. Dr.
/-1\lanji will speak about new
methods of correcting problems
in the nerve communication
process, leading to effective man-
agement of severe mood disor-
ders.
Kadima, the sponsor of the
conference, is a nonprofit, non-
\sectarian, mental health agency
'with over a 12-year history of
providing innovative programs
and services to men and women
with psychiatric disabilities.
Kadima offers residential op-
tions, outpatient services, and
supported employment as part
of Rehabilitation program to as-
sist mentally ill in maximizing
independence, social function-
ing and reintegration into the
community.
