Honors Gorrelick

Congregation Beth Achim will
honor Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorre-
lick, rabbi emeritus, on his 90th
birthday with a dinner at the syn-
agogue on Tuesday, June 4, at 7
p.m.
William Liberson will be mas-
ter of ceremonies for the evening
and will introduce dignitaries
from the state of Michigan and
the city of Southfield honoring
Rabbi Gorrelick.
There is a charge for the din-
ner; a portion of the cost of each
dinner will be donated to the Jew-
ish Theological Seminary in
Rabbi Gorrelick's honor. For in-
formation and reservations, call

by Wednesday, May 29.

at Erev Shavuot services on
Thursday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m.
The students will participate in
a service written by the class; a
reception will follow the service.

Congregation B'nai Moshe will
celebrate Shavuot with events
linked to the Book ofRuth. On the
first night of Shavuot, Thursday,
May 23, the synagogue sisterhood
will sponsor a light dairy dinner,
followed by study session on the
Book of Ruth led by Rabbi Elliot
Pachter. There is a charge for din-
ner (lower price for children un-
der 12), which begins at 7 p.m.
Prepaid reservations are re-
quired.
On Friday, May 24, Cantor
Klein and members of the con-
gregation will chant the Book of

Ruth.
