IRA KAUFMAN
(1896-1986)
Ira Kaufman established a legacy of
service, compassion and trust with
the Detroit Jewish community which
remains unsurpassed.
t some points in all our lives, we've walked together,
hand in hand, in support and understanding. At THE IRA
KAUFMAN CHAPEL, we have offered helping hands to
the Detroit Jewish community for over 50 years.
Throughout the generations, The IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL
has extended our hand as a symbol of compassion.
THE KAUFMAN COMMUNITY CORNER
Akeldama - May 19-June 27
International Premier
The widening of a Jerusalem road in 1989 led to a startling
discovery - a burial tomb over 1500 years old containing
glass, pottery, gold jewelry, etchings and burial cases.
The complete Akeldama exhibit is on display, for the first
time ever, at the Janice Charach Epstein Museum/Gallery,
May 19-June 27, at the Maple-Drake Jewish Community Center.
This spectacular event features tours, discussions about burial
traditions, a connection to history and our heritage
and at the May 19th Opening, from 2:00-4:00 p.m.,
demonstrations of the crafts from that era.
For more information, call (810) 642-4260, ext. 298.
