Storm Kirschenbaum
Kirschenbaum, of Franklin, has
been Groves' starting center field-
er for three years and is hitting
better than .700 in Groves' first
nine games of the season. He is
the first player from Michigan to
sign with Florida in more than 15
years.
Kirschenbaum is 5'8" and 175
pounds. He was a top hockey
prospect, but began concentrating
on baseball last year. His high
school career batting average be-
fore this season was .340 and he
has also stolen 10 bases in the cur-
rent campaign..
Israeli Team
Windmills Here
The Israeli national team will par-
ticipate in the ninth World's Fast
Pitch Softball Championships in
Midland, Mich., July 5-14.
Twenty-two countries will be
represented. The Israeli team is
scheduling exhibition games in
Detroit, Chicago and Toronto.
