Joel Tauber

Larry Greene, senior vice pres-
ident of Tauber Enterprises,
would not disclose the price of the
sale. But CTM will remain sepa-
rate, and none of its seven facil-
ities will be moved to the Detroit
area, he said.
"We wanted a manufacturing
company in a growth industry,
and we were interested in injec-
tion-molding plastics because of
our expertise in injection mold-
ing," Mr. Greene said. "It's a
growing industry because a lot of
its products are related to the
computer and electronics field.
The PC market has been grow-
ing significantly."
CTM, which is less than 10
years old, has consolidated sales
of about $75 million. Key Plas-
tics' sales hover around $200 mil-
lion.
CTM employs about 500; Key
Plastics, with 11 plants in the
Midwest region, employs rough-
ly 1,500 people.
According to a report that ap-
peared last August in Plastics
News, a Crain's publication, Key
Plastics ranked 17th nationally
as a plastics injection-molding
company, while CTM ranked
64th. Tauber Enterprises is also
the parent company of Key Fas-
teners Corp. in Indiana and Key-
well Corporation in Chicago. CI
