manufacturers' representative
for men's clothing who has been
exercise-walking for 10 years,
and Joe Friedman, 76, walking
for exercise since 1988. "Half of
the people in our group are walk-
ing because they have had heart
problems at one time or anoth-
er," Friedman says.
Not all of the exercise-walking
takes place in the morning, says
Tel-Twelve's Jennifer Fox.
Lunchtimes bring in business
people in suits and sneakers, and
in the evenings, most of the walk-
ers are couples.
Once the weather breaks,
many of the mall walkers head
outdoors for their daily exercise.
However, says Fox, "we still get
a lot of walkers in the summer.
The people form friendship
groups here."
