Bryan, son of Judy and Michael
Lipson, brother of Jenny, grand-
son of Ruth and Val Richardson,
Shirley and Robert Lipson and
Marilyn Friedman, great-grand-
son of Betty Glasier will become
bar mitzvah on May 4 at Tem-
ple Kol Arni.
Bryan is in seventh grade at
Warner Middle School. He
swims on the Sports Club swim
team and enjoys playing base-
ball, rollerblading, skiing and
spending time in northern
Michigan. He also plays alto sax-
ophone in the middle school and
recently competed in a solo and
ensemble competition.
Some of Bryan's mitzvah pro-
jects were the Gilda Walk for
cancer, escorting seniors from
the Menorah House around the
zoo with student-rabbi Aaron
Sherman and donating T-shirts
to the school basketball program
at Carver School in Detroit.
Emily Adler
Emily Paige Adler of Bloomfield
will be bat mitzvah at Congre-
gation Temple Israel on April 20.
Rabbi Bennett and Cantor Or-
bach will lead services. Partici-
pating in the ceremony will be
her parents, Lezlie Adler and
David Adler, and her sister
Meredith. Grandparents are
Robert and Bunnie Leach of De-
troit and Sara and Lewis Adler
of Florida.
Emily is a student at Derby
Middle School and attends He-
brew school at Temple Israel.
She is active in soccer, baseball,
art and skiing.
