ROSE SHAFFER, of Royal

Palm Beach, Fla., died April 13.
Mrs. Shaffer worked on the as-
sembly line for General Motors
Detroit Diesel (UAW). She and
her husband were UAW ac-
tivists and responsible for bring-
ing about the Mid-County med-
ical Center Inc. to provide care
withing Medicare guidelines.
Mrs. Shaffer was a member
of the board of directors of Mid-
County Medical Center, Inc., in
Fla., life member of Tamar-
Hadassah, ORT, the Ladies
Auxiliary Lions Club of Royal
Palm Beach, Fla. and a member
of the Royal Palm Beach Golf
and Country Club.
She was the loving mother of
the late Jane Hodder and the
dear sister of the late Sam Shaf-
fer, the late George Shaffer and
the late Jack Waxer. Mrs. Shaf-
fer is survived by her husband,
Leo; sons and daughters-in-law,
Robert and Nancy of Detroit,
Leo and Marie Jr., of Canton;
five grandchildren; 16 great-
grandchildren; brothers and sis-
ters-in-law, Mac and Ruth Wax-
er of Oak Park, Sanford Waxer,
Herman and Eve Resnick.
Interment at Beth El Memor-
ial Park. Contributions may be
directed to the Mid County
Medical Center, 8190 Okee-
chobee Boulevard, West Palm
Beach, FL 33411. Arrange-
ments by the Ira Kaufman
Chapel.

VERS, 71, of Detroit, died April

Livonia; 16 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren.

ARLINE SUSMAN, 87, former

Detroiter of Los Angeles, died
April 14. She is survived by her
sons, Arnold and Martin; grand-
children, Scott Susman, Kevin
Susman, Karl Susman, Rachel

granddaughter, Olivia Grace
