Dr. Alan Mindlin has become
the chief of staff at North Oak-
land Medical Centers. A board-
certified ophthalmologist, Dr.
Mindlin has served the hospital
in various capacities during his
20 years in practice.
After graduating from the Uni-
versity of Michigan Medical
School in 1971, Dr. Mindlin in-
terned at Sinai Hospital in De-
troit. He then studied for three
years at the Kresge Eye Institute
at WSU where he completed a
fellowship in ophthalmic plastic
and reconstructive surgery. Dr.
Mindlin specializes in trauma,
tearing and eyelid disorders. In
1991, he became the first oph-
thalmologist in the area to use
laser during tear-duct surgery.
He has an office in Pontiac and
Southfield.
Ophthalmologist Dr. Michael
Solomon of Bloomfield Town-
ship recently joined Bi-County
Community Hospital's medical
staff. Dr. Solomon's ophthalmol-
ogy practice is located on 12 Mile
Road in Warren.
Dr. Solomon is a graduate of
the University of Health Sciences
College of Osteopathic Medicine
in Kansas City, Mo. He served a
rotating internship and residen-
cy at Botsford General Hospital.
He also earned the distinction of
fellow in anterior segment/re-
fractive surgery at the Colorado
Eye Institute. 111
