Haim Feingold, director of Orr
Shalom Children's Homes, will
speak at 9 a.m. Shabbat services
April 27, at Congregation Beth
Shalom.
Orr Shalom (Light of Peace)
Children's Homes in Israel give
children-at-risk a fresh start
through its network of nine
homes.
Prior to becoming director of
the homes, Mr. Feingold worked
briefly at Detroit's Camp Tama-
rack and the Orchards Chil-
dren's Services which he used as
a model for Orr Shalom.
Mr. Feingold's appearance
also will be the occasion to hon-
or Detroiter Gerald S. Cook, an
Orr Shalom supporter. An at-
torney, Mr. Cook is a partner in
the law firm of Honigman Miller
Schwartz and Cohn whose affil-
iations include United Way, Big
Brothers of America, American
Jewish Congress (past presi-
dent, Michigan Region), Jewish
