Mr. Pickman attended Wayne State University and worked as business manager for the student publication. Following his enlistment in the Air Force, where he supplemented mili- tary chores by doing copy writ- ing for the Darcy Advertising Agency, he attended the Uni- veristy College at Washington University in St. Louis; he re- ceived a bachelor of science and a master's of business adminis- tration from that institution. At age 28 he was promoted to vice president of marketing research for the Kudner Adver- tising Agency in New York. He later joined Simulmatics Cor- poration as senior vice presi- dent and general manager. This was followed by a stint as vice president with Uncle Ben's Rice. In the 1970s, Mr. Pickman was group vice president at Gulf and Western Industries. He then took on an assignment as vice president and general manager/ chief operating offi- cer for the Dixie Consumer Products Division of American Can Company in Greenwich, Conn. He later joined the Coca Cola bottling company of New York as president of the Soft Drink Division. In his career, he also served as chairman of the board of the Cott Corpora- tion in New Haven, and presi- dent and chief operating officer of Core-Mark International, a Canadian holding company. Mr. Pickman is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Bernadine; daughter Lindsey; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Marcela. Arrangements by Green Funeral Home in Bel- lvue, Wash.
