Noa Ben Artzi-Pelossof

H

er face was dappled with
childish freckles and her
voice was plain as a teen-
ager's.
But the words tumbled from
Noa Ben Artzi-Pelossof in a tor-
rent of eloquent grief last fall as
she eulogized her grandfather,
Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Ms. Artzi-Pelossof almost
seemed to be scolding the world
as she let her own tears fall in the
deep well of sadness over the as-
sassination of her beloved grand-
father on Nov. 4.
She silenced and galvanized an
Israel torn equally by war and by
peace.
Since that day of ignominy, Ms.
Artzi-Pelossof has turned 19 and
authored a book titled In The
Name of Sorrow and Hope.
On Monday, April 22, she will
make Detroit one of her stops on

a book tour. She will speak and
sign copies of her book at the 21st
author's luncheon at the Royalty
House of Warren. The event, set
for noon, is sponsored by the Li-
brary Cooperative of Macomb and
the Detroit Free Press.
"I think it will be of great sig-
nificance for people of our com-
munity, not just the Jewish
community. She needs to be
heard by a great many people,"
says Donald E. Worrell Jr., the
head of Mount Clemens Public Li-
brary and the organizer of the
luncheon.
Mr. Worrell has seen galleys of
Ms. Artzi-Pelossofs book and calls
it "beautifully done." It has not
been released to bookstores yet,
but copies will be available at the
luncheon. The book, which de-
tails, among other memories, the
assassination and a trip she made
