Franklin, died April 1. Mr.
Schwartz was a plastic products
salesman. He also was the co-
founder of Women's Bicur
Cholem Society (caring for the
needy) and a veteran of World
War I U.S. Navy.
Mr. Schwartz was the beloved
husband of the late Helen
Schwartz. He is survived by his
daughter and son-in-law,Bar-
bara and Arnold Berg of
Franklin; grandchildren, Linda
and Bill Solomon, Wendy and
Loren Zeidman; great-grand-
children, Jeffrey, Danny, Jen-
nifer and Michael. Interment at
Machpelah Cemetery.

DEBBIE M. SILVERSTEIN,
35, formerly of Oak Park of Hen-
derson, Nev., died March 26.
Mrs. Silverstein was a second
grade teacher in Redford, MI
and Clark County, Nev., and an
active member of Midbar
Kodesh Synagogue and Jewish
Family Services in Nevada.
She is survived by her hus-
band, Michael B; daughter,
Daniella; parents, Dorothy and
Jack Shapiro; brother, David;
grandparents, Albert and Ann
Shapiro, all of Henderson; moth-
er-in-law and father-in-law,
Anna and Mason Himelhoch of
Southfield.
Services were held in Nevada.

BERTHA "BER'P' STRAUSZ,
76, of West Bloomfield, died
March 26. Mrs. Strausz was a
member of Temple Emanu-El
and Hadassah. She also did
Braille transcribing and was a
librarian at Temple Emanu-El
and the Birmingham Covington
School. She was an avid sports
fan and was a sergeant in the
Women's Army Corps in World
War II.
Mrs. Strausz is survived by
her husband, Lloyd; son and
daughter-in-law, Richard and
Brenda of Southfield; daughter
and son-in-law, Joann and
Howard Rosen of West Bloom-
field; grandchildren, Micahel
and Jennifer Strausz, Lindsey
and Zachary Rosen; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Rebecca Gor-
don of Beverly, Mass., Lily and
Sidney Ross of Cranston, R.I.,

LILLIAN R. WEISS, 87, of
Allen Park, died March 29. Mrs.
Weiss was a member of Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek. She was
the beloved wife of the late
Samuel Weiss and the loving
mother of the late Alan Weiss.
Mrs. Weiss is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law,

was a bookkeeper for the Detroit
Public Schools. She was also a
