87, of Southfield, died March 19.
Dr. Maxmen was a dentist and
one of the first endodontists in
the metro area. He was a long-
time member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, Alpha Omega
Dental Fraternity, Fellow of the
American College of Dentists
and Fellow of the International
College of Dentists.
Dr. Maxrnen graduated from
Wayne State University as a
pharmacist and then from the
University of Detroit Dental
School. He received numerous
dental awards and the Mai-
monides Award of State of Israel
Bonds. Dr. Maxrnen also donat-
ed an ambulance to the Ameri-
can Red Magen David for Israel.
He was the loving father of
the late Dr. Jerrold Maxmen.
Dr. Maxmen is survived by his
wife, Ethel of Southfield; son
and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Robert Maxmen and Dr. Toby
Steinberg of Long Meadow,
Mass.; daughter-in-law, Mary
Maxmen; grandchildren, Amy
and Isaac Maxmen; sister, Fan-
nie Levin.
Interment at Clover Hill
