Pre-opening of Chuck Muer's
Seafood Tavern at the former lo-
cale of Bloomfield Charley's, Pals
and Red Robin, West Maple near
Orchard Lake Road, was a
crammed affair.
Over 500 people ate so much
at the various buffet stations, plus
passed around hors d'oeuvres,
that Jim Blake, C.A. Muer Corp.
executive chef, came out at in-
tervals but couldn't stay long be-
cause so much had to be done in
the kitchen ... the food kept going
fast.
It makes one wonder where
people put it all ... even if it is free
... No charge for the drinks either,
and a lot of waste as folks left
cocktails standing while they
went to the bar for another ... Bet
they wouldn't do this if just giv-
en a couple of tickets.
Seems like a lot of people were
having a good time, though, and
this is the way a pre-opening
should be ... The Hans Muer Trio
played, guys gals laughed and
met others they hadn't seen in
years.
NEW STEAKHOUSE in the
River Place Hotel...Baron's...re-
flects the restaurant's historic
theme, which salutes Detroit's au-
tomotive and business leaders,
past and present, through pho-
tographs and images on the walls.
