Sapiens Deals
With Egyptians

Jerusalem (JPFS) - Sapiens In-
ternational has signed a distrib-
ution agreement with the
Egyptian firm Marhat.
Heliopolis-based Marhat is one
of Egypt's leading systems solu-
tions and support providers, and
specializes in large organizations.
Its major clients include finan-
cial institutions, industrial com-
panies, oil and construction firms.
Marhat will also distribute Sapi-
ens products in Kuwait, Saudi
Arabia and the Emirates.

The Rehovot-based Sapiens
is traded on NASDAQ. The com-
pany provides rapid application
development solutions for en-
terprise-wide mainframe, work
station and desktop environ-
ments.
The company's products are
used by corporations such as
IBM, Bendix, Binney and
Smith, Canadian Imperial Bank
of Commerce, AT&T, Panason-
ic UK, Rank Xerox and others.

Jerusalem (JPFS) - Taiwanese
computer concern Lite On an-
nounced it is considering estab-
lishing a production line in Israel.
The announcement was made af-
ter a meeting between Lite On
international division president
Dr. Sing Mao and Industry and
Trade Ministry director-general
Yossi Snir.
Sing Mao's visit was initiated
by Dr. Felix Zandman, president
of Vishay, the firm which would
establish a partnership with Lite
On.
Lite On, which has an annual

turnover of $1.3 billion, is a man-
ufacturer of computer compo-
nents and peripherals. The
concern has 27 production lines
in eight countries.
Etz Lavud has embarked on a
cooperative business venture
with Perstorp, one of the world's
largest Formica manufacturers.
Perstorp will market a minimum
of $5 million of Etz Lavud Formi-
ca annually to England and Scot-
land for four years. Etz Lavud's
total annual exports were $10
million last year.
