Kids' stuff, all of it. I know.
Well Rick, God's not finished
with us yet. I made that wish last
summer when I asked your par-
ents to allow you to travel through
Israel with me in your bar mitz-
vah year.
Growing up, gaining wisdom
is hard and painful.. We are never
done. We think we are too weak
to finish some of the tasks God has
given us. But each time God lets
us know, "You are strong. When
you make a mistake, try again. If
you continue your job in the
world, I will be your partner." A
partner is someone you work with
on a big project neither of you can
do alone.
God gives you other partners
on earth: your parents, your sis-
ter, your grandparents, aunts and
uncles. We never stop needing
partners.
It will be my pleasure to share
many firsts with you this summer,
partner, in our journey through Is-
rael. I'm so excited.

together as we go youth hosteling
through Israel.

Countdown
To Success

Even the simplest party or cele-
bration requires advance planning.
For a bar/bat mitzvah, you may
have to start as much as four years
ahead to reserve the date with your
synagogue.
Children must also be on sched-
ule with their Jewish education.
Starting at least a year in advance
of the event, dates must be con-
firmed and it is time to start
reserving caterers, planners, enter-
tainment, florists and decorators.
