Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Bais Chabad Torah Center will
continue his lecture series on
"History Through The Eyes Of
Tenach" on Thursday, March
14, 8 p.m. at the Torah Center.
Rabbi Silberberg will discuss
Peligesh B'Givah.
The Torah Center will offer
classes on conducting a seder
and understanding the Hagad-
dah on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
beginning March 13. The lec-
tures will be given by Marty
Goodman.
The Torah Center will co-
sponsor the annual model
shmurah matzah bakery with
the Bais Chabad of Farmington
Hills and the Jewish Commu-
nity Center beginning Sunday,
March 17, through Sunday,
March 24. The matzah bakery
allows participants to have a
hands-on experience baking
matzah as well as viewing a
Passover video. There is a
charge. To make reservations,
call the Jewish Community
Center, 661-1000.

Slates Talks

The Agency for Jewish Educa-
tion's Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Learning and Temple Is-
rael will present "Masters of
Modern Jewish Thought: Ex-
ploring the Teachings of Hes-
chel, Buber and Kaplan" with
Dr. David Ellenson, scholar in
residence. On Friday, March 15,
8 p.m., Saturday, March 16,
9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Tem-
ple Israel, Dr. Ellenson will in-
troduce the teachings of the
masters. Dr. Ellenson is the
Grancell Professor of Jewish Re-
ligious Thought at Hebrew
Union College-Jewish Institute
of Religion in Los Angeles. He
also is the director of Judaic
Studies at the University of
Southern California.
All lectures are open to the
Detroit area Jewish communi-
ty free of charge.

Akiva Art
On Display

The Akiva Hebrew Day School
PTA and the Sinai Hospital
Guild will present the Seventh
Annual Akiva Art Show. The
theme this year is "Jerusalem
3000."
The exhibit will be on display
in the Outer Drive lobby of Sinai
Hospital until Sunday, March
10, culminating with a luncheon
on March 10, at 11:30 a.m., for
the parents and students. The
Akiva Choir will perform at the
luncheon.
