Laker Fund Scholarship MSU Hillel Sets Calendar Applications are now being ac- cepted from college students by the Harry and Sarah Laker Israel Youth Scholarship Fund for an academic year's study in Israel. This is the 20th year in which a $2,500 cash award will be giv- en to the winning student who can select from the following uni- versities for his or her study: Bar- Ilan, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion or Hebrew University. To qualify, the applicant must be a resident of the metropolitan Detroit area, currently attending a college or university in the Unit- ed States, and must have applied to a school of higher learning in Israel. Beth Achim Scholarships Congregation Beth Achim will of- fer three scholarships for college- age students. Two of the scholarships are ex- clusively for study in Israel. The other is for study in Hebraic/Jew- ish studies at a recognized college or university. These scholarships range in the amounts of $1,500 - $2,500. In addition, two of the scholarships can be used for one semester or an entire year of study. To qualify, the applicant must be presently attending a college or university. These scholarships are open to the community. The application deadline is April 30.
