The congre- gation will participate in educa- tion, outreach, two carnivals, a "Mega-Megillah" family evening, and a Purim Party plus dinner and fund-raiser. The Adat Shalom Sisterhood share the spirit of Purim with fel- low Jews from Jewish Vocation- al Service and Kadima at its annual Sonia Knopper Purim Outreach Luncheon on Monday, Feb. 26, 11:30 a.m. Nursery School children will present a musical program, and the Hil- lel Day School eighth grade class will help serve. Each guest will receive a shalach manot bag of gifts. Sunday, March 3, will start off with a family Purim celebration, from 9-11 a.m. for religious school students and their families. This year the Adat Shalom Youth Department will sponsor two Purim carnivals, running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 3. "Mordechai's Marvelous Mag- ical Museum" will feature games,prizes, and food. Admis- sion is free. Tickets are 25 cents each. At the same time, "Haman's Hide-a-Way" will offer youngsters 2-1/2 to 5 years a Jump Ball and all the games they can play, with prizes for everyone, for $5 per child. Both carnivals are open to the com- munity. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Department. The congregation is invited to the Mega-Megillah on Monday, March 4, beginning with a casu- al supper at 5:45 p.m. At 6:45 p.m. there will be a creative Megillah reading by synagogue youth. Special entertainment will be provided by Helayne Shaw. The light supper is available for purchase. At 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, the Megillah will be read again by the Adat Shalom teens. They include: Lisa Berenholz, Sara Biederman, Salina Fogel, Aaron Goodman, Rebecca Goodman, Miriam Lieberman, Jason Miller, Marc Miller, Eve Posen, Gabe Rubin, Michael Schostack and Leah Weiss. The nursery school will create "Purim Pizazz" with parades, parties, mini-Megillah readings with Cantor Howard Glantz and entertainment by Debbie Lan- dau and PuppetArt on March 5 and 6. Purim Party Plus, a gala din- ner with music and dancing, will begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 9. Winners of the congre- gation's annual Purim Fund-rais- ing will be announced.
