All pleasures
are not
created equal.

Raphael Hirsch proclaimed,
"show that you are a Jew — hold
the stranger sacred." Isn't this
what we are about as Jews? Don't
we strive to build an individual's
sense of pride, of self-worth? If
we truly heed the commands
within this week's portion then
we will work to remedy this prob-
lem in Israel — and we will make
sure that all the strangers we en-
counter know that they are wel-
come.
This is not an option. It is a
command. But even more, it is
our responsibility. 0
