egas glitz and cowboy
boots set an unlikely
stage for philanthropy
Saturday night when
more than 250 people
showed up at Tam
O'Shanter Country Club.
Jewish Home for Aged
supporters, dressed in
studs, fringes, straw hats
and blue jeans, threw dice,
shot craps and tried their
luck at roulette.
Proceeds from the evening will go
toward Jewish programming at Fleis-
chman Residence in West Bloomfield,
Prentis Manor in Southfield, Meno-
rah House in Southfield and the new
home for aged under construction in
West Bloomfield.
"The purpose was to raise money
for activities within the Jewish Home
for Aged (system), as well as to edu-
cate people about what's going on at
the homes. We feel there's a necessi-
ty to get people involved and to make
sure there is Jewish content in our
member facilities," said Jonathan
Steinberg, co-chair of the event with
Pearlena Bodzin.
Sponsors of the sixth annual Mil-
lionaires Party were the JHA Bene-
factors and Auxiliary.
Game winners accumulated chips,
which they applied to the "purchase"
of gifts donated by local vendors. The
affair also featured a raffle for a large-
screen television. ❑
