less of past-life regression to cure
the problem. Through follow-up
studies, Dr. Tisdale has found
that the vast majority were
pleased with the results.
Following an initial consulta-
tion, the session begins with the
patient becoming deeply relaxed.
He is then free to roam to the
past life of his choice. At all
times he is conscious and in con-
trol. Dr. Tisdale asks open-end-
ed questions, allowing the
patient to direct himself where
he needs to go.
At the end of treatment, Dr.
Tisdale tells the patient to "go to
the pure, loving energy of God"
and retain the lessons he has
learned.
Dr. Tisdale recalled one fe-
male patient who frequently ex-
perienced a choking reflex. In
therapy, she discovered she had
lived in ancient Egypt where she
had been buried alive, dirt fill-
ing her mouth as she was placed
in the ground.
Another time, a gentile came
to Dr. Tisdale's office. He was
plagued by severe depression.
During regression to another
life, he began speaking "Yiddish
names like Yaakov and Gitel,"
Dr. Tisdale said. He envisioned
entering the Nazi gas chambers,
then was buried in a pit. Fol-
lowing treatment, his depression
was greatly improved.
In another session, Dr. Tis-
dale regressed a patient to a life
in 1278 CE. He was read _ y to go
into -battle because "King
Richard deemed it so." (In fact,
Edward I was king of England
from 1272-1307).
Moments later, the patient
felt himself floating through the
sky. Suddenly, a voice emanat-
ed from the patient and ad-
dressed itself directly to Dr.
Tisdale. It said, "I am the light
and I am the love." It spoke of
the need for tolerance for all
faiths, then added, "Alicia, I am
your spiritual guide. You know
hoe. You must help the world to
eliver this message (that 'love
is all that matters')."
Dr. Tisdale added, `The world
is in trouble. We must bring our
spirits to the master."
During a question-and-an-
swer period, Rabbi Gershon re-
turned to the issue of children
suffering, a subject he said
'taunts him. The one Jewish re-
sponse in which he finds comfort
is a Kabbalistic midrash which
holds "a child is taken so soon
because he doesn't need to go
through this process (the process
of life), because his soul is al-
ready so pure."
The rabbi also was asked
whether humans will be reunit-
ed with their pets in the world
to come.
"No," he responded. "Human
beings are human beings and
pets are pets, and only human
beings are considered to be holy
in Jewish tradition." ❑
