MORRIS D. BAKER

Morrie Baker was a model Jew, deeply caring and commit-
ted. He fiercely loved Israel, and his generous philanthropy
encompassed the whole Jewish people, with special empha-
sis on Torah, Talmud and Jewish education.

We will miss his insightful wisdom, his cogent, thoughtful,
independent minded recommendations, his friendly, unas-
suming manner, and his willingness to lead and set an
example.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to his beloved wife
Beverly, his loving sons, Adam, Marc and Joshua and to the
entire family, who filled his life with great love and joy.

May they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and
Jerusalem.

Perkers was a gasoline execu-

ROCHMAN, former. Detroiter
of Israel, died Jan. 11. A loving
wife, mother and grandmoth-
er, Mrs. Salzer was an
Auschwitz survivor. Services
were held in Israel where she
had resided for the past 20

S.ANNA SCHLASS, 97, of
Huntington Woods, formerly of
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Jan.
16. Mrs. Schlass was a mem-
ber of Hadassah for over 75
years. She was secretary of her
chapter in Winnepeg, Manito-
ba, in 1922. Mrs. Schlass was a
bookkeeper at a jewelry shop
in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, until
December of 1995.
Mrs. Schlass was the
beloved wife of the late
I.W.Schlass, loving mother of
the late Corinne Bucksbaum.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Joyce
and Robert Siegel of Hunting-
ton Woods, Ruth and Harold
Waldfogel of Huntington
Woods; son-in-law, Arnold
Bucksbaum; grandchildren,
