Youth Awards Essay Contest The League of Jewish Women's Organizations has applications available for its 51st Annual Youth Awards for high school students. The ceremony will be held Sunday, April 28, at Tem- ple Israel. To qualify for the annual youth award of $500, the applicant must be a high school senior, with at least a 3.0 grade point average, have a formal Jewish education, be actively involved in the com- munity and submit a one-page typed essay on the subject: "as fu- ture leaders of our country, dis- cuss the separation of church and state as it pertains to the issue of prayer in the school. As you write your response, take the perspec- tive from both an American and a Jewish point of view." Once qualified, an applicant will be in- terviewed by a panel of judges.
