Pros To Teach
At Sports Clinic

The Maple-Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center will host the 1996
Sports Around Town Profes-
sional Baseball Spectacular on
Sunday, Jan. 14, from 1-7 p.m.
The clinic will run from 2-5
p.m. with different age groups
being coached each hour. Each
participant is asked to bring a
glove, tennis shoes (no cleats)
and a bat if desired. A T-shirt will
be given to each player.
The trade-card show will be
from 1-7 p.m. and will include
celebrity autograph sessions.
The fees are: JCC members,
$25; non-members, $40. For in-
formation, call the Maple-Drake
JCC, 661-1000.

The Maccabi Club of Metro De-
troit will hold its second annual
"Movies for Maccabi" fund-rais-
ing event on Sunday, Feb. 4, at
the Showcase Cinema Pontiac.
The club will hold a reception
at 3 p.m. in the theaters' west-
side-of-Telegraph Road lobby.
The event will include refresh-
ments, a raffle and a kickoff for
the 1996 JCC North American
Maccabi Youth Games.
Tickets will be distributed at
the reception that will be good
for any movie in Showcase the-
aters 1-12 that begins prior to 6
p.m. Feb. 4.
The cost of the event is $25 per
adult and $18 for persons age 18
or under. Proceeds will support
Maccabi Club programs and ath-
letic scholarships. For tickets,
send checks by Jan. 19 made out
to Maccabi of Metro Detroit to
