JOHN KAMENS of Bloomfield
Hills was recently named to the
National Board of Trustees of
the Leukemia Society of Amer-
ica at their annual leadership
conference in Pittsburgh. Mr.
Kamins is a partner at Honig-
man Miller Schwartz and Cohn
in Detroit and is the president
of the Michigan Chapter of the
Leukemia Society of America.

DR. YALE ERIC COHEN was
awarded the Bantrell Fellow-
ship for neuroscience research,
specializing in spatial percep-
tion, at California Institute of
Technology.

week Introduction to Judaism
class beginning on Tuesday,
Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m., at the thin-
ple. The class is open to anyone
interested in learning more
about Judaism or converting to
Judaism.
The cost of the course is $100
per couple and $80 per individ-
ual, with a $55 book fee. Class
dates are Feb. 27; March 5, 12,
26; April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; May 7,
14.

Volunteers in Action (VIA Hil-
lel) will host a dinner for the
homeless on Thursday, Jan. 11,
from 3-7:30 p.m. at the First
Methodist Church (on the corner
of State and Washington). VIA
Hillel will prepare and serve din-
ner to the homeless. The first shift
from 3-5 p.m. will cook food; the
second shift from 5-7:30 p.m. will
serve food.
Reform Chavurah's weekly
meeting will be Thursday, Jan.
11, at 7 p.m. at Hillel.
