Rabbi Elliot Pachter will speak
at the weekly Conservative
Movement Torah and Lunch
program Thursday, Jan. 11,
starting at 12:30 p.m. in the
Max M. Fisher Jewish Federa-
tion building. Lunch will be
available for a fee at noon and
reservations are requested. The
opening chapters of the book of
Shemot and Exodus will be top-
ic of the study session.
Rabbi Pachter is spiritual
leader of Congregation B'nai
Moshe. The weekly Torah series
is sponsored by the Detroit
Friends of the Jewish Theolog-
ical Seminary, the Rabbinical
Assembly and United Syna-
gogue for Conservative Ju-
daism, Michigan Region.

Holocaust
Research

The Jewish Genealogical Soci-
ety of Michigan and the Polish
Genealogical Society of Michi-
gan will hold simultaneous
meetings at 1:30 p.m. on Sun-
day, Jan. 14, at the Holocaust
Memorial Center, 6602 W.
Maple Road, West Bloomfield.
The meeting will begin with
a tour of the Center (1:30-2:30),
followed by a talk on Holocaust-
related genealogical research by
genealogist Betty Provizer
Starlunan (2:30-3:30) and an op-
portunity to do research using
the unique resources of the
Holocaust Memorial Center's li-
brary (3:30-4:30).
Meetings of the JGSM are
free and are open to all. Mem-
bership information will be pro-
