Shalom will conduct a workshop
on Jan. 21 to provide answers to
the question "What Makes a
`Jewish' Marriage?"
• The series will conclude on
Jan. 28, when Brad Wasserman,
will provide pointers on "Finan-
cial Planning for a Happy Mar-
riage." Mr. Wasserman is a
partner in the Southfield ac-
counting firm of Woronoff, Hy-
man, Levenson & Sweet, P.C.,
handling accounting, tax, finan-
cial and estate planning matters
for businesses and individuals.
He is a past president of the Adat
Shalom Synagogue Men's Club.
Rabbi Nevins will provide open-
ing remarks, and Rabbi Spectre
will give closing remarks that
day.
All sessions will take place in
Rabbi Spectre's study. Couples
will share bagels, coffee and con-
versation.
The series is sponsored by
Adat Shalom's Jewish Family
Living Institute. It is open free of
charge to all interested Jewish
couples in the community.

Workshop Series

Adat Shalom Synagogue will
sponsor a series of three Sunday
morning workshops for recent-
ly married couples or those an-
ticipating marriage. The "Plain
Gold Band" series is set for 9:30
a.m. on Jan. 14, 21, 28. Each
morning will focus on a different
aspect of building a strong mar-
riage.
On Jan. 8, Lorraine Lerner
will discuss "Interpersonal Rela-
tionships in Marriage." The co-
ordinator of family life education
for Jewish Family Service, Ms.
Lerner is a clinical social worker
who works with individuals, cou-
ples, families and groups and fa-
cilitates pre-marital workshops.
