Calendar Girl

Amanda Mostyn, another "Beautiful Face."

PHIL JACOBS EDITOR

ach day as he drove
through his South-
field neighborhood on
his way to school,
Michael Mostyn passed a
group home for the devel-
opmentally disabled.
He wondered what the
neighbors thought about it,
and if it affected property
values. Mr. Mostyn wasn't
sure himself if he wanted
those with Down Syn-
drome to have such high
visibility in a community.
Years later, Mr. Mostyn
is still a Southfield resident,
and he still occasionally
passes the same group
home. What's different is
that now Mr. Mostyn
wants everyone to see
those individuals with
Down Syndrome.
Especially Amanda.
Everyone can. Jaymie

est daughter is the June

calendar called "Beautiful

duced by Cynthia Kidder

She also was "fine" when it
came to posing for the calendar.

"Our family is doing this to
show people that kids with Down

We look at her, and we know that
God only gives out a few of these
kids. We were one of the lucky
ones." El
