Rabbi Ernst Conrad, rabbi
emeritus of Temple Kol Ami, will
conduct a discussion on "Ju-
daism, Past and Present" on Fri-
days at 10 a.m.

At the recent first official meet-
ing of the Temple Beth El Par-
ent Teacher Organization, a
board of directors was formed,
committees were organized and
officers elected.
Serving as the PTO's first of-
ficers are Leslie Rubin Slatkin,
president; Susan Kiebler, vice
president; Anne Goldber, secre-
tary; and Sheryl Hessler, trea-
surer. Karen Hull will chair new
members and Scharlotte
Izraelewicz will serve as room
parent coordinator and teacher
relations chair.
Among projects discussed was
the upcoming Jan. 21 Children's
Book Fair, which will kick off the
revival of Junior Readers Club.

Aids Library

The Friends of the Huntington
Woods Library will hold a used
book sale on Saturday, Jan. 6,
from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the li-
brary, 26415 Scotia in Hunt-
ington Woods. All proceeds
benefit the Huntington Woods
Library.
Clearance sale: first 20 pa-
perbacks for $1; then rega+ar
price of six for $1; hardbacks
three for $1.25

Young Adult
Social Event

Young adults will gather at 8
p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the Old
Woodward Grill in Birmingham
for the monthly young Adult Di-
vision Bar Night.
This community outreach pro-
gram brings together young
adults in a relaxed and hos-
pitable atmosphere.
The Jewish Federation's YAD
provides political awareness, so-
cial, cultural and community out-
reach activities for single and
married Jewish young adults
throughout the tri-county area.
