Event Calendar

Michigan Region B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization will hold its
Regional Convention Sunday,
Dec. 24, through Thursday, Dec.
28. Most of the events will be held
at the Maple-Drake JCC. Sand-
wiches made at the Peanut But-
ter and Jellyathon will be donated
to a soup kitchen; ISF Bingo will _
raise money for International
BBYO fund raising.
AZA Basketball league is in the
process of registering the teams
for the 1996 year. The league will
begin games on Sunday, Jan. 14
and run weekly on Sundays, 3:30-
6:30 p.m. at Maple-Drake.
BBYO will hold a series of spe-
cial weekends at the Charles and
Florence Milan Conference Cen-
ter in Belle River, Ontario. A
weekend for seniors will be held
Jan. 26-28 and two leadership
weekends for first and second
year members will be held Feb.
2-4 and Feb. 23-25.

Open House

The Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Learning of the Agency
for Jewish Education will hold a
Hebrew Open House for the win-
ter semester Jan. 31 from 7-8:30
p.m. at the Agency for Jewish
Education in Southfield to pro-
vide an opportunity for potential
student to learn about the array
of course offerings.
Hebrew classes meet for 16
week, once a week during the
day and evenings, beginning Feb.
13, at the Agency for Jewish Ed-
ucation. Courses range from To-
tal Beginner conversational
Hebrew to Advanced Conversa-
tional Hebrew and Advanced He-
brew Language and Literature.
The Tutorial Class is for students
of different levels who are inter-
ested in individualized instruc-
tion also is being offered.
