Nepotism Helps
Harper Creek

Coach Gary Lincoln may have
lost one son from the Battle
Creek Harper Creek High School
basketball team, but he's de-
pending on another.
Junior Ben Lincoln led Harp-
er Creek to a season-opening win
Dec. 5 over Allegan, 43-41. Ben
led the team in scoring with 10,
rebounding, 6, and assists, 3.
On Dec. 8, the team beat Hills-
dale, 66-61, with Ben leading in
scoring, 14, and assists, 7.
Brother Geoff, who helped lead
Harper Creek last year, is now a
freshman at Oakland Universi-
ty. Father Gary is one of two Jew-
ish head basketball coaches in
Michigan public high-school
ranks. The second is Howard
Golding at Oak Park.
