Barbara S. Balaj, formerly of
West Bloomfield, recently joined
the Middle East Department of
the World Bank in Washington,
D.C. Ms. Balaj has been involved
in international aid coordination
efforts in support of the Israeli-
Palestinian peace accord.

David H. Fink of the Detroit-
based law firm of Cooper, Fink &
Zausmer has been appointed by
Wayne County Executive Edward
H. McNamara and Detroit May-
or Dennis W. Archer to the board
of directors of the City of De-
troit/Wayne County Roundtable
on Sustainable Development. The
goal of the roundtable is to fos-
ter consensus among stakehold-
ers in southeast Michigan on
what needs to be done to sustain
development in the city. Mr. Fink
