Adam Whiie-,
age

a Huntington
Woods resident
and a 7th-grader at
Norup Middle
School who attends
religious school at
Temple Emanu-El.
This is the first
time Adam entered
the Chanukah Art
Contest. "I saw some pictures of cities in school and I drew a picture first," Adam
said. He then cut out construction paper to make the winning design.
Adam's brother, Michael, 8 1/2, won his age group two years ago and again this
year. The family does many art projects at home, Adam said, but he also plays piano,
trumpet, "Magic Cards," video games and sports.
As many of the 494 entries as will fit on the walls are on display at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Jewish Community Center in Oak Park throughout Chanukah. A
community-wide party and reception will honor all of the artists from 2-4 p.m. Sun-
day, Dec. 17, at JPM.
The first-place artists will be given prizes, the Mask Puppet Theatre will perform,
and there will be a Chanukiot making contest and refreshments.
