Beth Shalom Offers Shelter Congregation Beth Shalom will host the homeless Dec. 17-24 for the third year, welcoming up to thirty clients from the South Oakland Shelter. Beth Shalom members and community friends will serve meals, provide transportation and sleep over in the congrega- tion's building. Congregants have even provided gift wrapped hol- iday presents to be given on Dec. 15. There are three Jewish con- gregations involved wtih this Shelter Project: Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Congregation Beth Shalom in Oak Park and Congregation Adat Shalom. Throughout the year, South Oakland Shelter sells "house- pins" to help raise funds and re- ceives grants from various public and private sources.
