Workshop Set

A new series of Adat Shalom
Synagogue current events work-
shops, "Am I My Brother's Keep-
er?" will be launched at 7:30 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 11. Alan Good-
man, executive director of Jew-
ish Family Service and
Resettlement Service, will look
at "Federal Budget Cutting—
How it Affects You and the Jew-
ish Community."
Future programs will take a
look at: 'Domestic Violence With-
in the Jewish Community," "The
Jewish Community During The
Upcoming Presidential Election"
and "The Israeli Peace Process
and What We Need to Under-
stand About It." All of these pro-
grams are being arranged by the
synagogue's Social Action Com-
mittee. There is no charge. The
community is welcome.

Plans Party

HELP FOR NEW MOTHERS

The Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan. Detroit will host
the Si Israel Memorial
Chanukah Party, featuring Sam
Barnett and his orchestra, Mon-
day, Dec. 18, at 12:30 p.m. in the
Maple-Drake building.
The orchestra will play
Klezmer music, big band sounds,
and Chanukah melodies. There
will be refreshments, dancing
and a sing-along. No charge for
JCC members; non-members
